Plan Your 2025 Alaska Adventure: Essential Tips for Lodging, Travel, and Sightseeing

The 2025 season kicks off in May but we have already seen a huge flux in reservations this winter. Most of the popular towns in Alaska to visit are generally small local communities so amenities tend to get reserved fairly quickly. The Kenai Peninsula generally gets 1.4 million visitors each summer, so if you’re looking to visit alaska this summer then here’s a few things that you need to consider and get reserved well in advance:

  • Hotels and Lodging are the first things you should get reserved. Guests visit Alaska for so many different reasons but the one thing they all have in common is needing a bed to sleep in at night. Hotels and Lodging are always the first to become sold out, especially in a lot of the smaller towns like Seward. We operate the Safari Lodge which is a beautiful 10 room lodge located in the Seward small boat harbor and all the rooms overlook the water which makes for a very comfortable accommodation. We also rent out a beautiful 3 bed/2 bath home that’s located a few miles from the boat harbor in a quiet subdivision.

  • Rental cars and RV campers are the next thing you’d want to get reserved. Because of the volume of guests that visit Alaska each summer, vehicles tend to get reserved up fairly far in advance.  Check with the local campgrounds to reserve your spots as well if you’re planning on getting an RV camper to travel the state. If you’re planning on just coming down to seward from anchorage then a rental car isn’t necessarily needed. You can take the alaska railroad, several rideshare busses,  local taxis, and Seward’s free shuttle to get around town

  • Seward is home to Kenai Fjords National park, which makes our town a very popular destination during the summers. The park is best viewed by boat, which is why sightseeing tours in Seward are in such  high demand. Alaska is home to some resident pods of whales but we definitely see a flux in migrational pods during the summer months like Grey’s, Humpback’s, Fin’s, and Orca Whales.

We want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday season and are excited to see all our repeat and new customers next season!
